The Regular Meeting of the Town Board of the Town of Macedon held August 11, 2016 at the Town Complex, 32 Main Street, in the Town of Macedon was called to order by Supervisor Sandy Pagano at 7:30 p.m.

RESOLUTION NO. 171 (2016) FIREWORKS DISPLAY PERMIT – ROCHESTER AERO MODELING SOCIETY

RESOLVED the Macedon Town Board approves the Outdoor Fireworks Display Permit as requested by Rochester Aero Modeling Society with Youngs Explosives Corporation as the display company to be held September 3, 2016 at 2529 Macedon Center Road contingent upon Attorney approval of insurance/bond and Macedon Center Fire Department approval.

RESOLVED the Board accepts the resignation of Tyler Robinson from the Macedon Police Department effective August 3, 2016.

RESOLUTION NO. 173 (2016) NYSEG REBATE PROGRAM - $1137

RESOLVED the Town Board authorizes the Town Supervisor to sign the Macedon Town NYSEG reservation letter for the Commercial and Industrial Energy Efficient Rebate Program. Project #01360721 for $1137

RESOLUTION NO. 174 (2016) ERIE CANALWAY NATIONAL HERITAGE CORRIDOR GRANT

WHEREAS the Town of Macedon received unanticipated revenue by virtue of the Erie Canalway National Heritage Corridor grant in the amount of $500. Anticipated donations of $500.

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, to amend the Town budget account # A3989 – State Aid other Home and Community Services $500 and A2705 – Gifts and donations $500.

RESOLVED the Town Board approves the request to expand the hours of operation for Millie’s Handle Bar Cafe to include Thursday & Friday 12:00 to 9:00pm.

RESOLUTION NO. 176 (2016) LOCAL LAW TO ESTABLISH CAPITAL DEBT AND CAPITAL RESERVE FUND CHARGES FOR MACEDON CONSOLIDATED SEWER DISTRICT NO. 1 PUBLIC HEARING SET

RESOLVED the Town Board schedule a Public Hearing on September 8, 2016 at 7:45 P.M. to hear public comments on Local Law #3 - 2016 to establish quarterly Capital Debt Charge of $42.50 and Capital Reserve Fund Charge of $17.50 for each equivalent dwelling unit located within the Macedon Consolidated Sewer District No. 1.

Roundtable:

Highway Superintendent Chris Countryman stated that paving will start on Willowdale, Beebe and the Village Streets.

 

Chief of Police John Colella – 3 weeks ago garage door opener stopped working in the ambulance bay.  Paul Harkness received three quotes for 3 new openers. 

Chief Colella would like to submit a proposal to revamp the police website and would like to review it with Councilman Maul.

 

Supervisor Sandy Pagano stated that the CREG grant application has been started. 

 

Aero Airplane show will be August 27 & 28 and the Helicopter show will be September 2-4th.  Fireworks will be on September 3rd.

 

The Walworth Road Bridge will be closed starting on August 5th for 8 weeks. 

 

Waste Management Presentation 

Nicole Fornof – Waste Management and Luann Meyer - Barton & Loguidace Engineering Firm presented a presentation on the expansion of Waste Management.

RESOLUTION NO. 178 (2016) A proclamation honoring CHIEF JOE LUSARDI for the award of Central New York Firemen’s Association’s 2016 Firefighter of the Year.

WHEREAS: Chief Lusardi’s name was submitted by Tom Shirtz, 1st Assistant Chief of the Macedon Center Volunteer Fire Department

Whereas: Joe Lusardi has been a member of the South Macedon Fire and Rescue for 3 years and Chief for 2 years

Whereas: Joe Lusardi has been a firefighter for over 11 years and 8 years in the military with one-year deployment overseas.

Whereas: Joe Lusardi was awarded this prestigious honor for his role of his heroic actions to rescue an occupant in a vehicle that had crashed into the NY State Canal (Erie Canal) in the Town of Macedon on December 8th, 2015.

Whereas: Joe Lusardi removed the occupant from the vehicle that was submerged in the canal. The rescue efforts were very heroic.

Now, Therefore Be it proclaimed by the Town Board of Macedon, New York, to recognize Chief Joe Lusardi for his outstanding service to our community and our country as a decorated military service person and the Chief of the South Macedon Fire and Rescue Department. Recognition of the Central New York Firemen’s Association’s 2016 Firefighter of the Year.

PROCLAIMED this 11th day of August, 2016 by a vote of 5 in favor and 0 opposed.
