RESOLVED that the Board does approve the fire protection agreement with Macedon Center Volunteer Firemen’s Association Inc. in the amount of $178,397 for the calendar year 2011.

Councilman Maul gave his annual Preliminary Budget Presentation.

            (Two PT employees hired outside of staffing agency)

            State Retirement +34%

 

The budget will increase by $16,000 due to the increases in state retirement and health insurance just received. 

            Town Resident Outside Village – tax rate $3.16758 up $.03/thousand

            (Increase - $4.50 on a $150,000 home)

            Town Resident Inside Village    -  tax rate $2.687 up $.10/thousand

            (Increase - $9.00 on a $90,000 home)

Councilman Maul said it was a difficult decision to ask employees to take a 0% increase and we do not plan to make a habit of it.

The next Town Board Meeting will be held on Wednesday, November 10, 2010 due to Veteran’s Day.

 

Veteran’s Day Dinner will be held at Micelli’s on November 11, 2010 beginning at 6 p.m.

 

The contract for the sound system has been executed and will be installed within three weeks.

 

Supervisor Hammond clarified a response from the Recreation Director to Macedon Partnership regarding participation in the Halloween Parade scheduled on Friday.

 

The Wayne County Finance Committee discussed taking back the sales tax from the school after Supervisor Hammond had to leave the meeting.  A large portion of sales tax comes from Macedon.  This would definitely benefit the East end of the county.

 

Town of Palmyra will be holding a public hearing on October 28, 2010 at 7 p.m. on a proposed property maintenance ordinance.
