A Regular Meeting of the Town Board of the Town of Macedon held July 8, 2010 at the Town Offices, 32 Main Street in the Village of Macedon, was called to order by Supervisor William Hammond at 7:30 P.M.

Representatives from Physio-Control, Inc. presented state bid pricing for 2 LifePak 15 Monitor/Defib, CPR, Pace, to 360J, SPO2/CO, 12L GL, NIBP, CO2, Trend, BT units.  Leasing options through USBAN Corp. were discussed.  The units have an 8 to 10 year life expectancy.  They cut down transport time and send readings directly to doctors to make the determination where the patient should go.  An annual maintenance agreement is also available.  The Board requested looking at purchasing outright with other financing.  The state bid number will be required.

RESOLUTION NO. 159 (10) POLICE FEDERAL 2009 BRYNE JAG RECOVERY GRAND AWARD

BE IT RESOLVED that the Town Supervisor and the Chief of Police are authorized to sign acceptance documents for the Federal 2009 Byrne JAG Recovery grand award of $24,382 and be it further

 

RESOLVED the Chief of Police is authorized to complete any and all related reporting requirements of the grant.  The award is for the purchase of a 2010 Ford Crown Victoria Police Patrol vehicle.

RESOLUTION NO. 160 (10) POLICE SURPLUS VEHICLE

BE IT RESOVED that the Chief of Police is authorized to surplus a 1996 Chevy Cavalier two door sedan, with VIN #1G1JC1241T7195130, vehicle will be sold “as is” via sealed bid process.

RESOLUTION NO. 161 (10) POLICE TASER KIT ORDER

BE IT RESOLVED the Chief of Police is authorized to order (1) Taser X26E kit at a cost not to exceed $900 dollars, purchase to be expensed from A3120.200 as budgeted.

This taser will be dedicated to Court dates and used on road patrol when court is not in session.

 

When the temperature in the attic exceeds 133 degrees it sets off the fire alarm.  Two weeks ago there was a problem with the duct controls.  A quote was obtained to circulate air in the attic in the center areas only.  The Board felt request for quotes should be put out for bid for the entire building.

 

RESOLUTION NO. 163 (10) VENTILATION PROJECT BIDS

AUTHORIZE the Supervisor to seek qualified bids for the attic ventilation project and authorize the Town Clerk to advertise.

RESOLUTION NO. 164 (10) ASSESSMENT LITIGATION APPRAISAL FIRM

BE IT RESOLVED to authorize the Supervisor to sign agreement with GAR Associates, Inc. for appraisal in Glenwood litigation not to exceed $4,000.

Supervisor Hammond commended the Macedon Center Fire Department for all their hard work this week with the magnesium fire at Hauser and the Stanton hay fire.

 

Waste Management will be holding their open house August 4, 2010.  Rochester Aero Modeling Society has scheduled their model airplane show August 21 and 22, 2010.  Macedon Center Fire Department will be cooking at the event.  Palmyra-Macedon Central School District is celebrating their 60th anniversary on July 31, 2010.  July 13, 2010 500 cyclists will go through Lock 30.

Supervisor Hammond circulated a sample of future Wayne County Tax Bills that will break out more tax lines to allow residents to see what they are paying for.

 

Discussion followed on the appearance of Wayne Villa Motel and the old McDonalds Building.  Scott Allen will be asked to start the process to get them cleaned up.

RESOLVED the Board enters into Executive Session at 8:40 p.m. to discuss particular personnel issues.
