RESOLVED that Supervisor Hammond is authorized to submit an application for funds, not to exceed $54,315 from the USDA National Resource Conservation Service 2009 Farm and Ranchland Protection Program for Jordan who was awarded funding in the NYS Department of Agriculture and Markets farmland protection program and, be it further
RESOLVED that Supervisor Hammond is authorized to sign on behalf of the Town of Macedon an option to purchase an agricultural conservation easement with the following farmer as part of the USDA NRCS farmland protection program, pending approval by the Town Attorney for form and content: Jordan.

WHEREAS, emergency medical services is a vital public service; and
WHEREAS, the members of emergency medical services teams are ready to provide lifesaving care to those in need 24 hours a day, seven days a week; and
WHEREAS, access to quality emergency care dramatically improves the survival and recovery rate of those who experience sudden illness or injury; and
WHEREAS, the emergency medical services system consists of emergency physicians, emergency nurses, emergency medical technicians, paramedics, firefighters, educators, administrators and others; and
WHEREAS, the members of emergency medical services teams, whether career or volunteer, engage in thousands of hours of specialized training and continuing education to enhance their lifesaving skills; and
WHEREAS, it is appropriate to recognize the value and the accomplishments of emergency medical services providers by designating Emergency Medical Services Week; now
THEREFORE, the Macedon Town Board, Macedon, New York in recognition of this event do hereby proclaim the week of May 17-23, 2009, as

RESOLVED the Board accepts the bid from Gray’s Carpet Cleaner for carpet removal and replacement at 1620 North Wayneport Road not to exceed $6,500 to be expensed from A1620.201.

It was the consensus not to participate in the donation as requested by WCIDA in the amount of $1,000. Many towns to not participate and the County makes up the difference.
The United Way sent a thank you note for the increase of participation on the part of the Town employees.

The NYS Route 31 Corridor Study Steering Committee will meet Thursday, May 28th from 4-6 p.m. at the Town Hall.
The Board will discuss microphone system bids, Cheerleading and Tumbling recreation classes and Highway summer laborers at the next meeting.
A crew of 15 to 30 Hill Cumorah Pageant Participants will be volunteering in the community service project for the Town this year. They will be available on July 14, 15 and 16, 2009.
DOT notified the Town that the Canandaigua Road Bridge will be closed for rehabilitation from January 2010 into the Summer of 2011. Through traffic will be rerouted during this time period.
This year’s Memorial Day Parade will be held in the Macedon Village. It will begin at the Village Canal Park and end at the Village Cemetery. After the cemetery services a picnic is planned at Gravino Park with free hot dog, beverage and popsicle for participants.
Macedon Historical Society is holding an Open House Flag Day June 14th 1 – 4p.m. at the Macedon Academy. Light refreshments will be available.
The Macedon Town Planning Board received a copy of an application from Robert Palmiere to erect a digital billboard in front of the Village Highway Department on Route 31 near Gravino Park. The Village will be holding a Public Hearing to obtain more information regarding the billboard application and land exchange. It is a requirement to notify the neighboring community when there is consideration of a change within 500 feet of another community’s border.
The Chamber of Commerce is hosting the Cruses along the Erie Canal on Tuesday, May 19th at Midlakes Macedon Marina. Carmela Mantello, Director of the NYS Canal Corporation will be on board and say a few words. There is stillroom if anyone would like to attend and learn the history of the Canal. Contact the Chamber at 315-538-9828 for reservations.
The Certificate of Need Meeting will be held Monday, May 18, 2009 at 6 p.m. in Geneva for the Macedon Town Ambulance.
The Town of Walworth submitted a copy of the Town of Walworth’s Proposed Local Law No. 4 of 2009, which would amend Chapter 180 Zoning, entitled Zoning, Regarding Solar Collectors and Installations. The Walworth Town Board will hold a Public Hearing on May 7, 2009 at 7:45 p.m. at 3600 Lorraine Drive, Walworth.

Effective August 17 sporting license fees for the license period 2009/10 will increase. Lifetime license prices will increase on October 1, 2009. Hunters between 65-69 should consider purchasing a lifetime sportsman license. Sr. Lifetime is currently $50 for ages 65-69 which includes small/big game, turkey, fishing and a waived application fee for DMPs. After October 1 you will not qualify for Senior Lifetime until 70 years of age and it will cost you $65, which will include small/big game, turkey and fishing with NO WAIVED DMP FEE. The new annual licenses for ages 65-69 will be fishing $29, sportsman $47, DMP $10 and turkey $10.
Michael Hansen (Kirtas), Ed Papenfuse (Maryland State Archivist), Sally Millick (Macedon Historical Society Historian) and Judy Gravino (Town Clerk) met at Kirtas Technologies, Inc. in Victor. The 1823-1851 Town Minute Book, found at the Macedon Historical Society by Sally Millick, was recently returned over to the Macedon Town Clerk. Sylvia Farrer Bornarth cleaned the book of mold, mildew and dirt. Michael Hansen then arranged for the Church of Latter Day Saints to pay for the digitalization of these records. Ed Papenfuse previously restored this minute book in memory of his late Aunt Sara Wilson, wife of John Wilson. The book will be sent out to complete the restoration process.
