A Regular Meeting of the Town Board of the Town of Macedon held April 9, 2009 at the Town Offices, 32 Main Street in the Village of Macedon, was called to order by Supervisor William Hammond at 7:00 P.M.

RESOLUTION NO. 110 (09) HIGHWAY SCHOOLING

RESOLVED the Town Board approves Highway Superintendent Richard Roets to attend the 2009 Highway School to be held in Ithaca, New York from June 1 – 3, 2009 at a registration cost of $90 to be expensed from A1510.400.

RESOLUTION NO. 112 (09) PROPERTY ACQUISITION BUDGET ADJUSTMENT

RESOLVED that the Town Accountant is authorized to make the necessary budgeted adjustments for the purpose of property acquisition.

The Village & Town Joint Sewer Committee will meet April 14, 2009 at 3 p.m. at the Village Partners Office.  Scott Allen, Bill Hammond and Kim Leonard will represent the Town.

 

The Town Clerk will look into pricing for new microphones for the Board.

 

RESOLUTION NO. 113 (09) COUNTRY GREEN LAWN CARE

RESOLVED the Town Board approves the contract with Country Green Lawn Care & Landscaping for the purpose of lawn care at a cost not to exceed $650.

BE IT RESOLVED that Officer Earl J. Lergner IV is authorized to attend the Tactical Warrant Service & Approaches School at the Monroe County Public Safety Training Center from May 18 – 22, 2009 at a cost of $277.25 to be expensed from A3120.400 as budgeted.

RESOLUTION NO. 116 (09) POLICE TRAINING – COOMAN

BE IT RESOLVED that Sergeant Tom Cooman is authorized to attend the Governor’s Safety Conference to be held in Syracuse from April 28 – 29 at a cost of $94 to be expensed from A3120.400.

Highway Superintendent Richard Roets reported lawn damage should be completed next week and Yellowmills Road drainage will be finished the week of April 20th.  Work at North Wilson Road will begin April 27, 2009.  Supervisor Hammond and the Highway Department will be attending a mandatory MS4 Guidelines training that will be sponsored by Wayne County Soil & Water and held at the Town Hall.

 

The Macedon, Palmyra, Walworth Chamber of Commerce will host their annual cruise along the Erie Canal at the Midlakes Macedon Marina on Canandaigua Road on May 19, 2009 at 5 p.m.  The cost is $25 per person and includes a light dinner and cash bar.  Carmella Mantello, Director of the New York Canal Corporation will make a guest appearance.

 

The annual Memorial Day Parade will be held in the Village this year on May 25, 2009 at 11 a.m.

Supervisor Hammond received a certificate for completing the Public Authorities Accountability Act Training

 

Chief Colella reported training for the new electronic ticketing in the patrol cars has been completed and now operational.  The Step Grant and Buckle Up NYS Grant have been completed.

 

RESOLUTION NO. 117 (09) EXECUTIVE SESSION

RESOLVED the Board enters Executive Session at 7:50 p.m. to discuss a particular personnel issue and proposed acquisition of real property.

RESOLUTION NO. 119 (09) POLICE STORAGE CONTAINER PURCHASE

BE IT RESOLVED that the Chief of Police is authorized to expend $2,500 from the local Drug Seizure account to purchase a storage container for the purpose of evidence/equipment storage from Macedon Collision as per the attached quotation.  Funds to be expensed from AL3120.400.

RESOLUTION NO. 120 (09) POLICE PHYSICAL FITNESS PROGRAM PURCHASE

BE IT RESOLVED that the Chief of Police is authorized to implement the proposed Macedon Police Department Physical Fitness Program, with the purchase of equipment as listed on the attached document, not to exceed a final cost of $8,500 for the project.  Funds to be expensed from the Federal Drug Seizure Account from AF3120.400.
