A Regular Meeting of the Town Board of the Town of Macedon held August 14, 2008 at the Town Offices, 32 Main Street in the Village of Macedon, was called to order by Supervisor William Hammond 7:30 P.M.

 

Pledge of Allegiance

 

Upon Roll Call, the following members of the Board were present:

Ora Rothfuss made a presentation on the Farmland Protection N.Y. Ag & Mkts Grant. This year 3 landowners were interested in the program: Nolan\Jordan Farms, Smith Farm, and Littlefield Farm. He explained that only 2 farms can be submitted and explained that the two biggest landowners would probably be the best choice - Nolan\Jordan and Smith. The Board decided to make a decision at the next meeting with a full Board.

 

RESOLUTION NO. 169 (08) APPROVAL OF MINUTES

RESOLVED the Board approves the minutes of July 24, 2008 as presented.

RESOLUTION NO. 171 (08) ASSESSING PURCHASE - ENVELOPES

RESOLVED the Town Board authorizes the Assessor’s Office to purchase envelopes for data mailers as mandated by the State, not included in current budget, not to exceed $2,200 and further authorizes the Accountant to make any necessary budget adjustments.

RESOLUTION NO. 172 (08) SCHOOL TAX COLLECTORS APPOINTED

RESOLVED that as provided in Section 37 of the Town Law of New York State the Town Board of the Town of Macedon does hereby appoint the following individuals to collect for the 2008-2009 school year:

 

Helen Jensen as School Tax Collector for the portion of Wayne Central School District within the Town and be it further

 

RESOLVED             that Lynne Green is appointed Tax Collector for the portion of the Palmyra-Macedon Central School District within the Town and be it further

RESOLVED that Justina Bielecki is appointed School Tax Collector for the portion of Victor Central School District within the Town and be it further

 

RESOLVED that Tracey Blankenburg is appointed School Tax Collector for the portion of Gananda School District within the Town and be it further

 

RESOLVED that Margaret Revelle is appointed School Tax Collector for the portion of the Penfield School District within the Town.

RESOLUTION NO. 173 (08) SMITH MINING PERMIT EXTENSION

RESOLVED the Town Board extends the SUP for the Smith Mining Permit to 12/31/08 pending his application to NYSDEC being approved.

RESOLUTION NO. 174 (08) COUNCILMAN NAWROCKI RESIGNATION

RESOLVED the Town Board accepts with regret the resignation of Councilman Ken Nawrocki, effective August 1, 2008.

RESOLUTION NO. 175 (08) 2008 JUSTICE COURT ASSISTANCE PROGRAM

RESOLVED the Town Board approves and authorizes the Macedon Town Court to submit and the supervisor to sign the 2008 Justice Court Assistance Program Application.

Memo from Highway Superintendent Dick Roets - Yellow Mills Road will be closed starting 8-18-08 for 3-4 days for pipe repair.

A study by Vellano Bros. shows that new sewer lines on Route 31 are showing a marked improvement. Highway Dept. did improvements around sub-station on Wayneport Road.

 

Dave McEwen spoke on bad line of site at Magog & Turner Rd and Magog & Erie Street. He also has concerns about the hill on Yellow Mills Road with the school buses. This will be discussed with the highway.

 

Wayne Arc has sent a letter on building a residence home at the former Farm Restaurant. The Board has 40 days after they receive the letter to respond, the letter was dated July 25th. It was decided to have them come to the next meeting.

 

John Colella informed the Board that the website for the Police Department is up and functional - MacedonPolice.com.
