NO. 21                                                                                                            PAGE 5

OCTOBER 25, 2007

The Town no longer has a contract with the Village for ambulance.  The Town Ambulance will be taxed town-wide.  Village residents will be taxed for Village and Town ambulance.  Residents should call 911 and they will dispatch accordingly.  This is not double coverage but additional coverage.  Individual’s insurance companies will be billed for ambulance use to keep taxes down.    The goal is for the Town Ambulance to eventually pay for itself.  The Town may have to subsidize it somewhat, but as it is established the ambulance should become self-sufficient. Yesterday’s Courier recognized employees this year with salary increases.  With the new revenues the Town was able to increase salaries to the levels the Board felt these individuals belonged at.  The amount stated in the Courier for the ambulance purchase was incorrect.  Mr. Toomey met with several area businessmen today.  They applauded and support the Town Board for the progress in regards to public safety, ambulance, growth and tax cuts.

The Board recognized Sue Bush and Scott Allen for their efforts because all the growth starts with the Building & Zoning Department.
