A Regular Meeting of the Town Board of the Town of Macedon held November 13, 2003 at the Town Offices, 32 Main Street, in the Village of Macedon, was called to order by Supervisor William H. Hammond at 7:30 P.M.

RESOLVED the minutes of October 23, 2003 be approved with one correction:

Page 5, third paragraph from bottom should read : There are additional costs. This year it is $8.00 for additional officer.

RESOLVED the Board accepts the resignation of Elizabeth Scarlata as Gananda School Crossing Guard effective November 14, 2003 and acknowledges her commitment to the children.

RESOLVED that Deirdre Gunio be appointed effective 11-17-2003 to the position of Gananda School Crossing Guard at a rate of $4897.00 annually (prorated from hire date to end of the year)

RESOLVED the Board approves and authorizes the Supervisor to sign Snow & Ice Contract between Wayne County and the Town of Macedon for County Roads from October-1-2003 to May-30-2004.

RESOLVED the Board schedules a Public Hearing on December 11, 2003 at 8:30 P.M. to hear public comment on the Anthony Sapienza Special Use Permit for a proposed Family & Youth Entertainment Center at 1136 Route 31.

DISSCUSSION

Supervisor Hammond informed the Board that Chris Countryman, a Highway Department employee discovered a garage fire at a house on Bunkerhill Drive while taking care of the road on Thursday, November 13, 2003. He called the office to call 911 then checked the house for residents, found a hose and put the garage fire out.

Paul Kenyon will be doing the Board Meeting on December 11, 2003-Bill Hammond will be at a County Meeting.

Security Camera for parking lot was discussed- Bill Hammond had a quote from Concord Electric -Paul Kenyon will get a second quote and Ken Nawrocki is checking into savings on insurance if we have this type of camera.

Letter requesting a street light be installed at corner of Hance Road-petition will follow.

Senator Charles Schumer/website-David Maul putting information on Macedon website.

Tom Cox-Gananda Central School -requesting joint meeting with Board in January.

Marty Aman-WCWSA-cost of water increase up to $3.35 per thousand

Chief Ellis letter to Board concerning special committee to study need for extra officer.

Thank you from American Legion for $250.00 donation for Memorial Day Services.

ROUNDTABLE

Dave McEwen stated that Library still having problem with humidity control in Bullis Room.

Ken Nawrocki to meet with Cleary Insurance needs inventory of Town Offices.

 

RESOLUTION NO. 311 (03) PUBLIC SAFETY COMMITTEE

RESOLVED the Town Board, appoints Tom Littlefield, John Short, Dave Maul, and William Hammond to the Public Safety Committee.

The charter of the committee will be to study the finances of the Police Department and determine if we can add an additional officer in the most economical fashion.

The committee will also study the near and long term public safety concerns of the Town and the Village. This committee should also have equal representation from the Village of Macedon.
