The Regular Meeting of the Town Board of the Town of Macedon held March 12, 2015 at the Town Complex, 32 Main Street, in the Town of Macedon and via web at 16246 Citrus Parkway, Clermont, FL 34714 was called to order by Supervisor William H. Hammond at 7:30 p.m.

OFFICER GOODFRIEND

Chief Colella would like to update everyone on Officer Brigette Goodfriend’s graduation from the Police Academy. Brigette graduated March 6th from the Rural Police Training Academy which is based at the Genesee Community College, and her accomplishments were astounding.

 

Officer Goodfriend was given awards for being Top Gun-1st overall in shooting, 1st place in the Overall Academics. 1st place in Academics, the Outstanding award in Role Playing Scenario Testing, the Richard A. Tiede Memorial Award for best overall recruit, and she also received the Loose-leaf Law Publications Recognition Award for being a Platoon Leader in the graduating class of 25.

 

Congratulations to Officer Goodfriend in her academic accomplishments.

 

RESOLUTION NO. 77 (2015) WILLIAMSON LAW BOOK TOWN CLERK PLUS SUPPORT CONTRACT

RESOLVED the Town Board approves the Williamson Law Book Town Clerk Plus Software Support Contract at a cost of $665.50 to be expensed from A1410.400 and further authorizes the Town Clerk to sign said contract.

RESOLVED the Town Clerk is authorized to advertise for sealed bid for Bullis Park and Canal Greenway mowing on a per trip basis, specs to be provided by the Highway Superintendent and available at the Town Clerk’s office Monday, March 16, 2015.

RESOLUTION NO. 81 (2015) WEST WAYNE PLAZA WATERMAIN EASEMENTS

RESOLVED the Town accepts the easements offered in regard to the West Wayne watermains and the Supervisor is authorized to sign such papers as may be necessary for the recording of water main easements at the West Wayne Plaza subject to approval by the Town Attorney and Engineer.

RESOLUTION NO.82 (2015) PUBLIC HEARING MACEDON SEWER DISTRICT 1

EXTENTION 6

BE IT RESOLVED the Town Board scheduled a public hearing for March 26, 2015 at 7:45 p.m. on the proposal for the establishment of an extension of Macedon Sewer District 1, to be known as Macedon Sewer District 1 Extension 6, with the improvements specified above, at which time and place all persons interested in the subject thereof may be heard concerning the same, and

 

WHEREAS, a written petition has been presented to and filed with the Town Board of the Town of Macedon requesting the establishment of an extension of Macedon Sewer District 1, to be known as Macedon Sewer District 1 Extension 6 (hereinafter “Sewer District Extension”), and more particularly bounded and described on schedule A annexed to the aforesaid petition on file at the office of the Macedon Town Clerk, and

 

                WHEREAS, the aforesaid petition has been signed by the owners of taxable real property situate in the proposed Sewer District Extension, owning in the aggregate at least one-half of the assessed valuation of all the taxable real property of the proposed district or extension thereof, as shown upon the latest completed assessment-roll of the Town, and

            WHEREAS, petitioners propose the construction of a sewer collection system within the area described as the Sewer District Extension, the costs of which will be borne completely by petitioners, and

 

            WHEREAS, the estimated cost to each typical property or typical dwelling unit (single-family home or equivalent dwelling unit) in the proposed Sewer District Extension is $400.00, calculated by the Town of Macedon based on average annual water consumption per year per unit, for operation and maintenance of the collection system, to be assessed to each such unit in the proposed Sewer District Extension, and

 

            WHEREAS, there is anticipated a one-time connection fee estimated at $1,000 per unit, and

WHEREAS, copies of the map, plan and report submitted by petitioners describing the proposed district are on file and available for review at the Town Clerk’s Office during regular business hours.

RESOLUTION NO. 83 (2015) LYONS NATIONAL BANK AGREEMENTS/CONTRACTS

RESOLVED the Macedon Town Board authorizes the Supervisor to sign the agreements/contracts with the Lyons National Bank, N.A. as presented to move

monies from the Town of Macedon checking, savings and money market accounts currently held in  J.P. Morgan Chase, N.A. due to the exorbitant monthly fees Chase will begin charging effective 4/1/2015 at the rate of $ 1,450.00/month (minimum).  The Town Clerk Checking Account and the Town Tax Collector Checking Account need to be included in this agreement as well to avoid all service charges
