A Regular Meeting of the Town Board of the Town of Macedon held on May 13, 2010 at the Town Offices, 32 Main Street in the Village of Macedon, was called to order by Supervisor William Hammond at 7:30 P.M.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED the Macedon Town Board waives the 30 day waiting period as requested by applicant and authorizes the Supervisor to notify the State Liquor Authority.

RESOLVED that the Town Board hereby determines that the proposed use of property located at 1704 North Wayneport Road by the Calvary Chapel is another use similar in nature and scale to what is allowed in an ORM zone.

RESOLUTION NO. 123 (10) NYS DEPT OF HEALTH VITAL SIGNS TRAINING

RESOLVED that the Director of EMS Todd Blanchard be approved to attend the New York State Department of Health Vital Signs Training, to be held August 27-29 , 2010. The training will be held at the Sheraton New York Hotel & Towers in New York City. The cost not to exceed $600.00, and to be expensed from budget A4540.400 and was a budgeted line item for 2010.

RESOLVED that the Town of Macedon accept the bid from Doors Plus More for removal and installation of a new fourteen foot overhead door at the Public Safety Building. This bid is for $1600.00 and was the lowest of three submitted bids.

RESOLVED the Town Board regretfully accept the resignation of Sally Robinson, Macedon Police Department Clerk effective June 30, 2010.

ROUNDTABLE

Dick Roets stated that uniforms for the highway employees currently cost about $12,500 annually. He has found a vendor that will cost less than half of the current cost.

The Highway Department will be working on Canandaigua Rd (Route 31 to Pkwy), Farmington Rd and Wilcox Rd. filling cracks and sealing the week of May 24th.

 

Dave McEwen would like Town to look into video conferencing equipment, so if a Board Member is out of the area they can still participate in the meeting.

 

Supervisor Hammond reported that Dick Clark from the Board of Elections stated that the Election Committee is looking for 2 people to set up voting machines for the elections. The pay is $50.00 per person, requirements are to unload machine, set up in the early morning and take down and load at end of day.

The County Board Meeting and Supervisors Meeting will be held at the County Fair. New voting machines will be on display for demonstrations at the County Fair.

 

RESOLUTION NO. 128 (10) EMS WEEK PROCLAMATION

WHEREAS, the emergency medical services is a vital public service; and

 

WHEREAS, the members of emergency medical services teams are ready to provide lifesaving care to those in need 24 hours a day, seven days a week; and

 

WHEREAS, access to quality emergency care dramatically improves the survival and recovery rate of those who experience sudden illness or injury, and

WHEREAS, the emergency medical services system consists of emergency physicians, emergency nurses, emergency medical technicians, paramedics, firefighters, educators, 911 dispatchers, administrators and others; and

 

WHEREAS, the members of emergency medical services teams, whether career or volunteer, engage in thousands of hours of specialized training and continuing education to enhance their lifesaving skills; and

 

WHEREAS, it is appropriate to recognize the value and the accomplishments of emergency medical services providers by designating Emergency Medical Services Week; now

 

THEREFORE, I William Hammond, Supervisor, Town of Macedon, New York, in recognition of this event do hereby proclaim the week of May 16 - 20, 2010, as

 

EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICES WEEK.

 

With the theme, EMS, ANYTIME, ANYWHERE, WE’LL BE THERE, we encourage the community to observe this week with appropriate ceremonies and activities.
