A Regular Meeting of the Town Board of the Town of Macedon held August 10, 2006 at the Town Offices, 32 Main Street in the Village of Macedon, was called to order by Supervisor William Hammond at 7:30 P.M.

 

Pledge of Allegiance.

 

Upon Roll Call, the following members of the Board were present:

RESOLUTION NO.160 (06) APPROVAL OF REPORTS

RESOLVED the Board approves the reports as submitted.

RESOLUTION NO. 161 (06)RECEIVER OF TAXES & ASSESSMENTS

       PROPOSED LOCAL LAW NO. 6 PUBLIC HEARING SET

RESOLVED the Town Board schedule a public hearing on August 24, 2006 at 7:45 p.m. to consider proposed Local Law No. 6 “Abolishing the elective office of Receiver of Taxes and Assessments and the creation of the appointive office of the Receiver of Taxes and Assessments effective January 1, 2008 subject to a mandatory referendum and be it further

 

RESOLVED that the Town Clerk is directed to publish said legal in the Times and post on the official bulletin board.

ROUND TABLE

Dave McEwen and Supervisor Hammond discussed the insulation in the Town buildings. The plan is to get the insulation bids in for October or November and do the furnace enclosures at a later date

.

Dave McEwen spoke on the Wal-Mart groundbreaking ceremony. He said that he has received very positive input from area people about the project.

 

Supervisor Hammond discussed an ongoing drainage problem on Olympus Drive

that the Highway Department has now taken care of.

 

Chief Ellis stated that they took the speed trailer donated by Waste Management to the Waste Management Open House on August 9, 2006.

Chief Ellis also reported that he has a second officer, Officer Kuhn, trained through Bike School, so a second bike is needed. This will provide more service for the community.

RESOLUTION NO. 162 (06) POLICE BIKE PURCHASE

RESOLVED the police chief be authorized to spend up to $1000.00 on a Gary Fisher Wahoo Disc 06 Bike, funds to be from Local Drug Fund AL3120.200.
