The Special Meeting of the Town Board of the Town of Macedon held September 6, 2001 at 1675 North Wayneport Road, in the Town of Macedon, was called to order by Supervisor William E. Eddy at 7:00 p.m.

Pledge of Allegiance.

Upon Roll Call, the following members of the Board were present:

The purpose of this meeting was to discuss the options available to the Town for new facilities.

Paul Russell, J.R. Russell Engineering and Jim Colacino, Newark Electric offered their services to help replace the structure.  They would design the specifications based on the needs and assist in the functional specifications for bidding.   The design build concept provides greater control.  It allows you to build in substantially less time.

Steve Waters, Turk Hill Park, LLC, invited the Town to remain at 1675 Wayneport Road as long as they need to.  He stressed the importance of planning to meet the Town’s future needs.

Greg Barber, MRB Group, presented a site plan consisting of a 5,000 square foot Town Hall and a 3,200 square foot Library that incorporated a bus loop for the Macedon Elementary School.

The Macedon Library Board of Trustees and Long Range Planning Committee requested the Library be rebuilt at the same location with a minimum of 14,000 square feet to meet the needs of the growing community.

The Board discussed the option of purchasing 1033 Pittsford-Palmyra Road from LBK Associates, LLC.
The property consists of four plus acres.

Councilperson Morrison inquired how buying versus building would affect the insurance payment.

Bill Eddy stated that the party interested in the beams in the old barn required the Town to dismantle the barn.

Discussion followed on the Allie’s House.  Options included leaving the house independent with it’s own heating and cooling, quoting the demolition of the building, or asking the Fire Department to burn the building.

Councilperson Kenyon entered the meeting at 8:07 p.m.

RESOLUTION NO.  274 (01) QUOTES TO DISMANTLE HOUSE AND BARN
BE IT RESOLVED to go out for separate quotes to dismantle the Allie’s House, footing, cellar and the barn with removal of all materials and that the Town has the right to reject all bids.

RESOLUTION NO. 275 (01)  TOWN HALL PROPERTY EVALUATION
RESOLVED the Town Board agrees to explore the potential of property located at 1033 Pittsford-Palmyra Road subject to legal advice, engineering review of the property and existing terms with tenants.

The Attorney was asked to look into the necessary steps to provide a right-of-way or deed land to the school to provide access to Route 31 to eliminate traffic problems.

Due to recent construction in the building Kim Leonard, Accountant will be working out of her home under Doctor’s orders.

Congressman Reynolds will be in Red Creek and Lyons on September 10, 2001.

Supervisor Eddy and Councilperson Morrison will meet with the Recreation Committee.

Macedon will be honored for the Macedon Farmland Protection Project on September 21, 2001 at the Hyatt Regency Hotel sponsored by the Common Good Planning Center.

Councilperson Morrison discussed items that needed attention at the prior location.

Gananda School Board voted to proceed with the Town of Macedon in regards to the Highway Facility.
