ZBA REFERRAL:

Z-02-15 – Lakeview Health Services – 1936 Route 31 – Area Variance – Section 135-85 (Schedule I) – Route 31 setback – Town Engineer Scott Allen explained that the applicant had revised the site plan since their previous submission, moving the building to the north & east to consolidate the parking areas.  The required Route 31 setback is 100 ft. from the right-of-way, and the applicant is requesting 73 ft.  Board members noted that commercial buildings to the west of this site (old McDonald’s & Parts Plus), were also at less than 100 ft.  A motion for a positive referral on this application was made by Greg Whitney, seconded by Kevin Rooney.  All in favor; motion carried.

OTHER BUSINESS:

A resident was present and asked for information regarding the Crane application (815 Route 31).  Town Engineer Scott Allen explained the proposed use (micro distillery), future building, etc.  The resident was concerned about losing “old” homes such as the one recently removed from this site.  It was noted that many parts of the house had been salvaged for future use.  Chairman Allen suggested the resident attend the next meeting (3/23) when the Crane proposal would be discussed.
