PLANNING BOARD

PRESENT:  Chairman Doug Allen, members Suzanne Airy, Mert Bartels, Mark McEwen and Kevin Rooney.  Also present were Town Councilman David McEwen, Town Engineer Scott Allen and Board Clerk Susan Bush.  Absent were Tom Morrison and Greg Whitney.

 

LOG-INS:

 

PB-08-10 – ANKOM SDG Corp. – 2052 O’Neill Road – Site plan modification for building expansion – Civil Engineer Kris Schultz of Schultz Associates and general contractors Matthew and Chad Brooks of MGB Building Inc. were present on behalf of the applicant.  Mr. Schultz reviewed this request for a 7,933 sq. ft. addition to the existing 12,000 sq. ft. building.  Expansion space will be used for warehousing & manufacturing operations.  Façade will match that of existing structure.  Points reviewed were:  (1) Upgrade of north driveway to accommodate large trucks; (2) Adequacy of septic/leach system (more than sufficient); (3) Possible impact on nearby wetlands (no impact); (4) Existing 12” drainage pipes to be checked & replaced as needed; (5) Verification of area to be disturbed; (6) Addition of culverts under the driveway.  The Town Engineer will verify the “light industrial” code for the building as well as the sprinkler requirements.  He will also review the overall plan with the Highway Supervisor for his input.  The contractor stated they would like to have the foundation & steel in by late October/early November with the building enclosed by December 1st.

 

PB-09-10 – VanLaeken – 3108 & 3242 Daansen Road – Two-lot subdivision – Boundary line adjustment between two adjoining parcels – This is a “property swap” between a commercial greenhouse parcel and the residential parcel of the greenhouse owners.

A motion to approve the 08-09-10 minutes was made by Mert Bartels, seconded by Suzanne Airy.  All in favor; minutes approved.
